Do you know how the common metal furniture, car shells, building components are made? In fact, they are inseparable from a key technology – bending. Today we will talk about how the press brake bending machine flat sheet metal ‘magic’ folded into a variety of shapes, as well as HanChine press brake bending machine how to solve the actual production problems.

Mutiple Press Brakes Available in HanChine

Hanchuan bending machine models are super complete, there is always a suitable for you!

Tonnage range: the smallest can be folded 25 tonnes of small metal parts (about 2.5 elephants weight), the largest can handle 3000 tonnes of big guys (equivalent to more than 2,000 cars);

Length range: from a minimum of 1.2 metres (slightly longer than a school desk) to a maximum of 14 metres (almost the height of a four-storey building);

Variety of types: from the all-electric ‘Quiet’ to the hydraulically driven ‘Hercules’, from the single-operated ‘Little Hand’ to the two-operated ‘Twin Combo’, and even the ’ There are even ‘intelligent robot cells’ that can work automatically.

No matter you want to fold small parts or large steel plates, Hanchuan can offer tailor-made solutions.

What is Press Brake Bending?

The main action of the press brake bending machine: just like a paper clip, put the metal plate on the lower die (similar to the fixed groove), the back of the blocking device to set the position of the upper die above the downward pressure, the flat plate ‘pressed’ into the V-shaped groove of the lower die, you can fold the desired angle, such as right angles, acute angles, etc.

Application Scenario: Bending can be found everywhere in our lives — the stainless steel basin at home, the computer case, etc.

Stainless steel basin at home, computer chassis;

Car doors on the road, underground handrails;

Angles and channels for construction ……

It can be said that where there is metal, there is bending!

Three Factors Affect Bending?

Bending Dimensional Accuracy

For example, folding a ‘L’ shaped parts, unfolding the flat plate size and folded size will be different, this difference is called ‘deduction value’.

The simple algorithm is to directly use 2 times the thickness of the plate, but the error is large. HanChine uses the ‘empirical value’ in the database (data measured tens of thousands of times), for example, for a 4mm thick steel plate, the deduction value calculated from the database is about 0.7mm more accurate than that of the traditional method, and there is no accumulation of error even after multiple bending.

Whether the Workpiece R Corner is rounded

The harder the material is (e.g. stainless steel), the fatter the corner is (the larger the R corner is); the softer the material is (e.g. aluminium), the thinner the corner is (the larger the R corner is). The ‘softer’ the material (e.g. aluminium), the ‘leaner’ the corner (small R corner).

The width of the groove in the lower mould also affects the R-angle: the smaller the groove (e.g. a narrow groove for folding a thin steel plate), the sharper the corner; the larger the groove (a wide groove for folding a thick steel plate), the more rounded the corner.

The size of the upper die’s ‘tip’ also matters: if you want to fold a large corner, use a rounded upper die; if you want to fold a small corner, you may need to thin the plate (planing groove) before folding to prevent cracking.

The R Angle inside the workpiece Angle Crooked or Not

There are two common types of bending:

Pressure bottom bending: hard ‘pressure to the end’, the angle is accurate (error of no more than ± 15’, equivalent to the angle of the clock minute hand 1 second to go), but requires a lot of force, change the mould trouble;

Free bending: gently ‘pressed to a certain depth’, flexible and labour-saving, but easily affected by the thickness and hardness of the plate. For example, 1.5mm thick steel plate, if the thickness difference of 0.15mm (equivalent to the thickness of a piece of A4 paper), the angle of folding out of the difference may be 3° (crooked than a right angle of 3°).

HanChine adaptive Press Brake Bending Technology

Traditional press brake bending is ‘counting the angle by depth’, HanChine is ‘measuring the angle while bending’. For example, if you want to bend 90’°, first calculate the angle of rebound of the steel plate (for example, rebound 2°), directly pressed to 88°, just after the release rebound to 90°.

Even if the thickness or hardness of the steel plate has 10% deviation, the angle error is only 0.2° – 0.3° (more than 10 times more accurate than the traditional method), and do not have to adjust the machine every time, small batch production can be fast and accurate.

Why can HanChine be Fast and Accurate

CNC Database support: CNC built-in system software stored tens of thousands of materials bending data, input parameters can automatically calculate the accurate size, but also can directly generate laser cutting diagrams.

Intelligent measurement: the laser measures the angle in real time (200 times per second), without touching the steel plate, and keeps an eye on the bending process like an ‘electronic eye’, making adjustments at any time.

Conclusion

HanChine press brake bending machine with a wealth of models and intelligent technology, the ‘bending steel plate’ this matter from ‘experience’ to ‘rely on data’, whether it is to do small parts or large-scale production, it can be It’s fast and accurate, whether you’re doing small parts or mass production.
